Terms of use

By using the MMA Statistics API (application programming Interface), the user must agree to the API terms of use stated below. The use of MMA Statistics API constitutes user’s acceptance of the Terms of Use agreement and to comply it. This includes requirements, API token, prohibitions and disclaimer.

1. Requirements

The user must consent to the following

  • The MMA Statistics API user needs to be aware and in compliance with data ethics. This includes maintaining the accuracy of data and quoting the source of the data as provided through the API, while publicizing the data in documents or applications and systems
  • If the user develops an application using the API for use by other users, display to the users of your application the link to these Terms of Use, and explicitly state in your application's terms of use that, by using your application, your users are agreeing to the Terms of Use of MMA Statistics API.
  • If you develop an application using MMA Statistics API for use by other users, protect the privacy and legal rights of those users.

2. API token

  • In order to access certain APIs, you may be required to provide certain information (such as identification or contact details) as part of the registration process for the APIs, or as part of your continued use of the APIs. Any registration information you give to MMA needs to be accurate, up-to date and you'll inform us promptly of any updates.
  • The API token will be an alphanumeric key assigned to the user that is unique for the user. The user is solely responsible for the token, it must not be shared with any other person. If the user become aware of unauthorized use of the API token, the user agrees to notify MMA immediately.

3. Prohibitions

Users may not

  • Share the API token.
  • The user is prohibited from using MMA Statistics API for any purpose that violates any law or regulation in the Maldives, any right of any person, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, rights of privacy, or rights of personality.
  • Though the user use MMA Statistics API, user is prohibited to state or in any way imply that the user’s application, web site or product is endorsed by the MMA.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the APIs or the servers or networks providing the APIs.
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code from any API or any related software, except to the extent that this restriction is expressly prohibited by applicable law.

4. Disclaimer

  • To enhance the functionality of the API usage, MMA Statistics API is restricted to maximum 60 requests per minute per user to mitigate server overload. In addition, API is restricted to maximum 10 series per page for each request.
  • Some of the API maybe experimental and we try our best to make it error free. However, MMA does not warrant that MMA Statistics API is free from bugs or completely free from errors.
    Therefore, use of the API is at user’s own discretion and risk, the user is solely responsible for any damage to that may cause. Furthermore, MMA analyzes user’s activity and retains usage data for future improvement and performance enhancement of the API.
    While using this information, MMA will comply with laws and regulations on privacy and confidentiality of the API user’s information (name and email address provided), and MMA will not publicize personal identification information of the API users.
  • MMA reserves the right to terminate the terms of use to MMA Statistics API or discontinue the APIs, any portion or feature of your access for any reason and at any time without liability or other obligation to you.
