1/Format is based on the IMF Government Finance Statistics Manual (GFSM 1986).Figures prior to 2022 were compiled using annual data published by the Ministry of Finance and Planning in the Government Finance Statistics publication. Figures from 2022 to 2026 are compiled from Maldives National Budget tables. The table will be updated in accordance with the IMF Government Finance Statistics Manual 2014 once updated data is received from the Ministry of Finance and Planning.
2/Figures for 2024 are actuals, figures for 2025 are revised estimates and figures for 2026 are projections as per the approved government budget for 2026.
3/This refers to sale of assets: includes fixed assets and sale of land & transfer of land fee.
4/Figures for overall balance as a % of GDP have been revised as per the annual GDP figures available as of 29 October 2025.
